I was firing up WoW on a laptop that I hadn’t used in a while and since I had a bit of time on my hands while the game patched I decided to read the patch notes.
I’m glad I did because I read one of the most awesome patch notes I had in a while: We can finally mail our heirloom items to our characters on others servers.
And not just Connected Realms but any realm where we have a character on our account. Read on past the jump for details.
The 5.4.2 patch notes contain the following under the “Items” section (emphasis added):
“Players are now able to mail account-bound items to other characters that reside on a different realm on the same account. To send cross-realm mail: enter the character’s name, followed by a hyphen ”-“, followed by the realm name. Note that cross-realm mail can only send account-bound items, not other items or gold.”
This is fantastic news for players like me who have the majority of hierlooms concentrated on one server.
This might also encourage players with alts on scattered servers to level them thus increasing the sale of leveling greens as well as 83–84 MoP items.
I know I am more tempted to level a few of the characters I have scattered around various realms knowing that I can always have a full set of heirlooms to help ease the leveling process.
