Celebrating One Year Of The Power Word: Gold Guide

Exactly one year ago today we put The Power Word: Gold Guide up for sale.

Asking people for real-world money was a big change for Power Word: Gold. It was first step in an effort to move Power Word: Gold toward profitability.

Over the previous year we have learned a lot by selling the guide. We have learned about selling products online. We have learned about distribution. We have learned about about pricing. We have learned about marketing. We have learned about customer support.

Most of all, however, we have learned to appreciate the community.

We want to thank each and every one of you who has shown your support for the blog, podcast and livestream by purchasing The Power Word: Gold Guide.

I had a twitter follower ask what the best way to ask us specific questions was: blog comments? Subreddit? Some other way?

In response we've decided to start a weekly gold-making question and answer post on the /r/PowerWordGold subreddit.

• If you have a specific gold-making question (or questions) you'd like us to answer head over and leave them on the this week's gold-making question and answer post.
• We expect to continue to answer questions until late Monday night (Jan 21, 2013).
• We hope to do these on a weekly basis so if you miss your chance to get your question answered please try again next weekend.

Zhu's Watch Farming Spot Nerfed

I think we all knew that this spot would be nerfed. It wasn't really a question of "if" it would be nerfed but "when".

Redditor beepbeep75 posted the news on /r/WoWGoldMaking. I've since been there myself and can confirm the nerf.

Beepbeep75 wrote:

"Today I went to Zhu's watch and the mobs in the phased out part of the Zhu's Despair quest gave only 200xp and they are no longer lootable, they just die and lie there."

While I am a bit sad to see this spot get nerfed it's not much of a surprise.

Also, as much as I'd like to take credit for publicizing the area (and therefore getting it nerfed) it is much more likely that it was was all the players and bots that likely farmed the spot non-stop that ultimately got Blizzard's attention.

Easy come. Easy go.

MoP "Uber" Blue TradeSkillMaster Dealfinding Lists

I've started to have some success buying and selling what I've dubbed Mists of Pandaria "Uber" blue items. These are items that were introduced in Mists of Pandaria that require level 80-85 and all have item levels over 400.

These are extremely powerful items and can fetch a premium price. I sell most of these items between 2500g to 6000g.

Due to their rarity one of the best ways I've found to find these items for the price I'm willing to pay (under 300g) is to use TradeSkillMaster Dealfinding Lists. Read on past the jump for TSM-importable lists to help you buy these items as soon as they hit the AH.

Setting Up TradeSkillMaster Groups - Step-By-Step

We had a request on the livestream to go over setting up TradeSkillMaster groups. Because this question comes up a lot we wanted to record it so that everyone could benefit from it.

Setting up TSM groups can feel complicated but it's worth the effort. Check out the video below.
